This blog seems almost abandoned now.

I have no idea why I have not deleted this blog yet, since I hardly ever visit my blog nowadays. Well, I guess it is because keeping a blog can be useful at times, for example, in a time like this.

I'm feeling perturbed and anxious about my studies nowadays, my lack of motivation to perservere more like. Apparently, everything else around me is more appealing to me than my books.

Well, I guess this cannot go on. Must do sth about it because it is too late. And since it is the June hols, time for me to shut myself in my room and really focus on what I should be focusing on.

Here are some goals I set for myself during this holiday:
1. Spend 9 hours of study on Mon-Thurs, 8 hours on Fri, 6 hours on Sat and 3 hours on Sun
2. Finish ALL revision package (tropical) for all subjects
3. During breaks, must find new info for GP
4. CONCENTRATE! Don't do other things during study time.

With YVIP volunteer attachment at Cheshire and rehearsals for harmonica concert at Esplanade, I don't seem to have any time for the mountain pile of homework now laying beside me.

So this is my homework list which I have accomplished:

4. Bio ACJC paper (structured)
5. Chem holiday homework
6. Bio Isolating and Sequencing tutorial

And here's the disastrous stack which I have yet to complete
1. GP homework (which is really freakingly scary)

7. Study for Chem test

God, please help................

It has been some time since I last updated. And now, a year is going to pass away as ever.

This year has been a really complicated and frustrating year ever, especially for my emotions. Within the first year of JC, I've experienced joy and sorrow, happiness and pain like never before. And along the way, I've learnt a few lessons.

Now, the only thing I hope is for lectures to end quickly, so that I can have a one-month break to straighten out my thoughts and begin a new journey.

May the Lord help me in my journey ahead.

I love my friends! They are the reason why I can still survive my JC life untill now.

During the laughter therapy training session, the laughter therapist came to me and say,
" You must be a very complicated person. You do a lot of self-reflection. I can see it from your eyes."
Yes, I think I guess I can be very sensitive about how and what others think about me most of the time, and I do a lot of self-reflection to improve myself.
Yet this character in me causes other problems too, especially in relationships and communication.
I pray to God that my sensitivity will not affect my friendship with my beloved new-found JC friends.....

Harmoc concert

Ok, this may be really really late alrd, but...

HARMOC CONCERT IS FINALLY OVER!

It seems like a really long time, from the time when i first stepped into harmoc and started to pick up the instrument, the time when I tried blowing out the notes in vain and ended up producing a vague off-tune noise, the time when I sit in front of the television watching dramas while practising my harmoc piece(zhizu, the first song I learnt :) ), the first time sitting in combined and playing along with the rest, the time we rushed thru the songs when concert is really drawing near, the times when we felt so exhausted but would still motivate one another to persevere, the times when we stayed in sch till 8 every single day, the times when we had our full-dress rehearsal and the anxiety and desire to do well in our concert.

These are all over.
And how I miss these great great times.

Have all of you heard of 梁文福before? I am sure all of you should hear of this song 细水长流 before (If you have not, you definitely have a DISTORTED school life!!!) 梁文福 is a famous local musician in the 1980s-1990s, and he is one of the pioneer to Singapore's music culture today. All his songs really make a huge impact on me. They really speaks about our life in a most direct way.

If you were to ask me to choose between my life right now and O Levels, I will definitely choose to redo O Levels again.

Well, JC life is real hectic, what with harmoc practices 3-4 times a week in preparation for concert, lecture tests, PW, tutorials, Energy Audit CIP....... it never seems to end---- which explains my lack of updates nowadays.

And I guess this is going to get worse when my H3 starts (YES, I got through the interview. Thank God!)

But I will PERSEVERE since I am the one who chose all these. But I guess my personal time will just dwindle and dwindle...

Decisions

I was deciding between whether or not to take H3 subject.

"Follow your heart," says a friend of mine, but my heart is telling me two different things.
Am I really interested in doing research work? The answer is YES, but yet I'm afraid of the SCARY time commitment I must put in.

So what should I do now? I decided to leave it to GOD! If I manage to pass the interviews, God is telling me that I should, if otherwise, then I shall wait till next year or sth.

My knee hurts, right now. I also don't know why. And got NAPFA next week. How?

I really got no regrets joining harmoc. It is the BEST cca ever!!!

School is starting tmr. Sianz... I am so not prepared to go back to school.
I guess the only thing I can look forward to is harmoc practice. Harmoc has increased to three times a week due to the concert held in May.

P.S: Lu Chen's performance on Wed and Thurs was so marvellous. I was gasping for breath while watching.
Those who watch this too will definitely agree that this guy is amazing

OG Outing and CCA

ROAD RUN on Fri, 26th Feb! All of us, the girls, ran 2.8 km around the school (The poor boys have to run 3.8 km). I guess 2.8 km isn't so bad as it sounds, cos I was like half-running, half-walking most of the time. Good training for NAPFA test, I guess.

OG OUTING after road run is like the MAIN HIGHLIGHT of my day. We went to Sentosa \, Palawan Beach together. Played volleyball, frisbee, poison ball and tuka-tuka! The tuka-tuka game is so cute. I guess I am still more bonded with my OG, thanks to all the orientation stuff we went through together. I LOVE OG 20 :)

Anyway, have everyone heard of the latest news? I decided to quit shooting and join HARMONICA!

Well, I guess I should quit being so sporty for once and try to enjoy the world of music through HARMONICA! This means that I will be joining SYF for the first time in my life.

LITWING on Thursday was rather fun. But I guess the best thing about litwing is that it is only once every two weeks :)

Since today is the last day we will be together as an OG, I suggested to go Island Creamery after school. And off we go. What fun we had eating ice cream and playing games!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Choices

Now that I am happily settled in my school, there are quite a few choices to make.

There are quite a lot of research programmes being offered in JC, and I am interested to take up at least one of them. Here are the following which I am interested in.

1. DSTA scholarship
This is a scholarship by Singapore's Defence Science and Technology Agency. You get to learn the science and technology behind the defence industry. Thought it will be kinda interesting to learn abt an industry which I hardly come across. Who knows I might become interested and give up medicine for defence instead? There is no bond in this scholarship.

2. Science Research Programme (SRP)
This is a rather prestigious programme launched by NUS and there is only less than 100 places nationwide. You have to think of a science project to do and the lecturers there will help u in the necessary. But it will be really hard to get in. You need to go for an interview and do a selection test in order to get in. Well, I dun have the confidence that I can enter this programme.

3. Nanyang Research Programme (NRP)
This programme is launched by NTU and it is rather similar to SRP except that the topics are already decided for you and the selection criteria are not so stringent, so I guess it will be easier to enter. But I will have to commit 100 hours (both research and report) within a year.

Please give me your advice to this. I really need to hear everyone's opinion to make a decisive choice on this. So please tag and tell me your views or experiences. I need to decide by this week.

And pray for me to make the choice which God wants me to. Thanks!

Changes

This is surely a week of changes.

So, I am now officially an NJCian. Was a little sad when I got my posting results at first as many of my friends went to HC or VJ. And also, I nvr really like NJ in the first place (and that is mainly cos of their school uniform).

I nvr knew that my feeling can change so fast overnight. Now I think NJ is really cool and you should come look at our mass dance, it is like WOW WOW WOW!!!! (Even though my liking for the uniform is still dangerously low:-(

NJC IS FUN OK, PEOPLE! In fact, it is as fun as in VJ which has a solid reputation for vibrance and liveliness. My VJ friends are telling me everyday how FUN VJ is, but well, even though I like VJ a lot too, but distance is really a problem for me... so... no thanks!

I know God will have His plan for me wherever I go. And I will thank God that I can still go to a top-notch JC in this competitive Sp!

2010 is here! A Very Happy and Joyous New Year to all!

Having a commitee's meeting in the first few hours of the new year is really a rejuvenating experience! It was really a meeting of a kind as it stretched over 2 years. We started on 31 dec 2009 at 10.30pm and ended on 1 Jan 2010 at 3.30 a.m. Slept at about 4a.m and woke up at 10.30a.m today! WOW, what a way to start the new year!

Church camp was great, considering the time limitations we had after christmas rally. Did lots of retarded things together, with the most classical of all being qiujin's "Single Lady"!

I was at Harbourfront with my family yesterday to shop for new year clothes. My mum and I seem to be on a frantic shopping spree and so my poor dad had to dig out his pocket to pay for our clothes!

As a girl growing to become a woman, I am slowly beginning to understand why most women view their make-ups as valuable. It is marvellous how my simple eyeliner (which only costs about $3) does such wonder to my eyes.

My eyes seem so much bigger than they actually were, WOW! (yea, my eyes are really freaking small) I really love this photo, BIG-TIME! I even put this as my profile photo on FB, haha.

We, the GJY, had Christmas rally yesterday. It was really successful. Out of 12 new friends who came, 6 accepted Christ, all glory to the Lord our Father! I really had fun organising this with all the comm members (Enling, Kangjun, Qiuling) and our precious daoshis, from meetings, to rehearsing to decorating to buying gifts, all of us really put in our efforts and did well in our respective roles.

I was waiting for some photos to be put on FB, but still now there is none. I will try to show u guys the picts if the photos are uploaded, so that you can feel the festive Christmas season in our church.

Next week's gonna be a really busy week, what with Christmas celebrations and having 2 cousins' weddings being held consecutively and also preparing for room renovation. This is gonna going to be HECTIC!!!

I'm back from Kemayan.

This mission trip was fun, more relaxing and enjoyable compared to last year. We had more free time for interaction, play and sleep. I had a great time interacting with the kids and the youths there.

I'm back to reality. There are just so much things to do... christmas rally prep, POP, room renovation, christmas clothes and lots and lots of work to do for my dad.

anyway, if you do not know, the man in the videos is Lu chen 刘谦, a Taiwanese world-class magician. He may not be very famous in southeast asia, but in japan, south Korea, and ESP Taiwan and china, he is 家喻户晓，无人不知，无人不晓。

and the very first video is the one which makes him an instant success on china. The second and third are peformed in japan ( he learnt Japanese in uni) and the last one is the peformance that gave him world championship. ( I'm not kidding. It's true!)

One word to describe this movie: thrilling!
I was like filled with trepidation, anxiety and excitement while watching this movie. Trust me, it really worth the money!
Many of the scenes really touch me, and all of them taught me one very valuable lesson:

Thanksgiving

We, the GJ Youths celebrated Thanksgiving yesterday. And it was very fun. We were supposed to make presents ourselves and then give it to the opposite gender. Since there were 12 girls and only 5 boys in the activity, the poor boys had to work harder to make presents for all the girls. Haha!

Anyway, the above para wasn't the main genre of this post lah. I typed this post mainly to thank two very important friends of mine during this thanksgiving season.

So who are these very special friends of mine? Drumroll...... They are....

1.Chen Qianyi
She is probably the SMARTEST girl I have ever seen in my life. I'm serious, and I am so dead lucky that she is my table partner for about 1.5 years. I never forget her 'zi-lian'-ness. And she also likes to zipai, her camera got loads of photos dedicated for herself. Well, she has alrd gone back to China on Sat, so I guess I probably won't get to see her much now since she wants to go to a polytechnic.

2. Sak Huier
YO, girl! Surprised to see yourself here! I must really really really thank you for letting me disturb you during our revision period. HAHA, thanks so much for listening to my emo-ness, crappiness and helping me so much in my school work. And if you are looking at this post. Memories and Meanings

This is the photo of me with my NP squadmates.

And without exactly knowing why, I seem to have a lot of sentiments after I saw this.

The NP unit, my squad...so much memories which colours my secondary life. I admitted that I felt perhaps a little resentment, morose, gloom throughout my NP years. These years were tough, really tough, so much so that I sometimes felt at the verge of giving up. However, my squadmates are always there in one way or another.

Now, when I come to think of my past four years, it would not have been so vibrant and so meaningful without NPCC. Right here, I just want to say a big thanks to all my squadmates and all teachers, seniors and juniors who had accompanied me through these years.

留恋，总在快离开时才能感受到。因为留恋，美好的回忆才会像星星一样，在我们漆黑的夜空中一闪一闪的点着。

而对你，我能说：天下没有不散的宴席。你有你的，我有我的方向。就算你不曾知道，下辈子还要和你遇到。

Luckily, there are still a bit of heels in my shoes (boots, to be more precise). So, 90% of the things prepared, the rest of the 10% depends on tmr. I can't believe that prom is tomorrow. WOW!!!

Just went through the Joint Admission Exercise booklets yesterday to look up on the subjects and more info abt the schools I want. And stupid me, only realised that the school fees in Hwa Chong and Raffles is $300 per month. Should have find out about it earlier right, since hwa chong is supposed to be my dream school for 4 years. Now, the best thing is to pray that I can get into the top 5% of the cohort so that I can get that whatever-scholarship then I can get into Hwa Chong at a much lower school fee.

I am very interested to pursue a few subjects in JC. One of them is China Studies in English/Chinese. It doesn't matter which medium they use. I'm fine with both languages. But well, It looks a like a bit of 'leng men' kind of subject. And another one that I'm considering is English Literature. I mean this subject can help into be more sensitive and aware of other's emotions right. I thought this might be a useful skill if I want to be a doctor in future. And, there is no need to take Literature in O Levels for u to pursue it in A levels, which makes it even more perfect. Sigh, I really dunno which subject to choose from. Can anyone give me some advice?

Went to Ms Tay's house for class outing on Monday. It was :)
Ms Tay's house is really BIG, RICH, IMPRESSIVE!!! We had loads of fun trying to mess around the house.

Monday was also Xuekun's birthday. And she got a massive and super cute birthday present. Look at the giant size Mickey mouse at the right. So cute!

After-Os days really ROCK! Even though I've only spent three days so far.

Went to Botanic Gardens with Qianen, Qingmei and Yahui yesterday. It was great.

O LEVEL IS OVER!!!!!!!!!!

OMG, I am so happy now that I can scream scream scream. It is just so unbelivable how fast time flies, just mths ago, I was chionging and chionging for Os. And now, I will have two whole months to play and play and not be troubled by homework. I'm so excited by a lot of things. Botanic Garden outing tmr, class outing on Monday and of course, PROM next week :)
